The Rolfing Series

What does a Rolfing treatment consist of and how long does it last?

A basic Rolfing treatment (cycle) involves 10 sessions, each of which last approximately 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

Sessions are separated by a period of at least one week.

The sessions begin with a meeting to discuss what the client’s wishes and goals are. Next, the client’s condition, structure, and respiratory patterns while standing, sitting, and moving are determined.

From these results, a clearly defined goal can be fixed for each session.

The treatment usually takes place while

lying down or in a sitting position.

During each session I gently work with my hands to penetrate deep into layers of connective tissue and thus release tensions.

Being of an elastic nature, toughened connective tissues of the muscles can be stretched through careful physical stimulation, and the different body parts can be brought back into their own respective inner order.

The result is an increased effectiveness of movement patterns.
